Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Introduction
MaplePhoto, a division of Fk7 Photographie Inc. ("we", "our", "MaplePhoto") operates the MaplePhoto school photography platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the substantially similar provincial privacy laws that apply to you.
Because Fk7 Photographie Inc. is a Quebec enterprise, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec) also governs our handling of personal information, regardless of where you live.
By using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not accept this policy, please do not use our platform.
2. Where Your Data Is Hosted and Who Receives It
Our platform hosts photographs, school rosters and the personal information you provide on servers located in Canada. Apart from the service providers described below, our platform never stores or processes photographs or school rosters outside Canada.
A few service providers process limited personal information on our behalf, some of them from outside Canada: our payment processor (Stripe, United States) receives the billing details needed to process a payment; our e-mail delivery provider (Amazon Web Services, Canadian region) receives the recipient address and the content of the e-mails we send, which may include photograph previews, small embedded images or links giving access to photographs; and our error-monitoring provider (Sentry, United States) receives technical diagnostics from which personal information is filtered, without a guarantee of its absence. When our primary e-mail service cannot deliver a message, that message may be sent through a fallback e-mail provider (Postmark, United States), which then receives the same recipient address and content. When a studio user signs in with a one-time code sent by text message, the mobile number of that user and the code are sent to our SMS provider (VoIP.ms, Canada). Stripe receives no photographs and no school rosters.
To produce the prints you order, the photography studio's print laboratory receives a production manifest. Depending on the laboratory the studio works with and the delivery method chosen, it may include the photographs ordered, the student's name and group or school, the purchaser's name, the order number and the product codes, the shipping address and, depending on the laboratory and its configuration, the purchaser's contact details and the comments entered at checkout. The laboratories we work with are located in Canada (Quebec and Alberta).
Photographs you download, or ask us to deliver, are sent to the recipient you designate, wherever that recipient is located; once delivered, they are under that recipient's control. Apart from the service providers and recipients described in this section, we disclose personal information only to the photography studio whose services you use, or where the law requires it.
3. Person Responsible for the Protection of Personal Information
We have designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. For any question about your personal information, or to exercise your rights of access, correction or erasure, you may contact us:
