1Their real photos, not a smiley face
In your MaplePhoto store, the prints and sheets of a package are shown with the photos from the child’s gallery. The 8×10, the 5×7s and the wallet sheet show their photos, each cropped to the shape of its size.
A generic preview shows every parent the same drawing: grey boxes, a smiley face, and the parent imagines the rest. In your store, the package card is built when the parent opens it, from the photos in their gallery. They see what they are buying before they add it to the cart.
The illustration takes our own package card and puts a smiley face where each photo goes: that is what a generic preview looks like. Drag the handle to see the same card as the parent sees it, in our demo store.

2How is a package preview built?
From the photos in the gallery and the contents of the package. You create the package once; the store illustrates it for every child.
Common sizes in their shape
Common sizes, such as 8×10, 5×7 or 4×6, show the photo cropped to their shape, with their quantity. A wallet sheet shows as a grid, a photo in each cell, when you enter its rows and columns in “Product Display Layout”.
Size contrast, if you want
On a computer, the “To-scale print previews” setting widens the size differences between formats: a 5×7 looks clearly smaller than an 8×10. Displayed sizes remain approximate.
Their picks, in the builder
In a package with several photos, the builder shows the selected photos by size; in single-photo mode, one card shows the chosen photo.
Frames, digital files and gifts with a configured print size can also be illustrated with the gallery’s photos; other gifts show their product image when available, or a generic icon.
3Sell by the sheet, let the parent pick the layout
A sheet is a single print of 7×10, 8×10 or 8×12 in. that carries one or more photos: one 8×10, two 5×7s, four 3.5×5s, eight wallets or a mix. You choose the layouts you sell; the parent chooses theirs.
In the guided store, the parent opens “By the sheet”. When you offer both modes, they first choose one photo or multiple photos per sheet. They then see the layouts for that mode, drawn to scale with the photos from their gallery and their prices, pick theirs, then their photos.
In multiple-photo mode, they tap a cell to change its photo; “Use this photo for the whole sheet” fills the other cells in one gesture. Photos are turned automatically to fill each cell and, depending on your session settings, the parent can also crop or rotate a photo.
As far as we know, as of November 1, 2026, our two main competitors do not offer selling by the sheet with a layout chosen by the parent.

4Which options do you set?
To sell a layout, you turn it on in a product and set its price. The rest is set in the product, in the session or in the package.
By default, a single sheet in multiple-photo mode carries the photos of one child only; you can allow siblings on the same sheet, session by session. In a sheet package, the package’s own setting decides.
| Setting | Your choices | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Layouts | The provided templates (Two 3.5×5 + eight minis, Mini Sheet (16), Four 3.5×5 and more), cloned and adapted, or your own, built by drag and drop | Sheet layouts |
| Sheet size | 7×10, 8×10 or 8×12 in. | Sheet layouts |
| Multi-photo mode | Same photo repeated, a different photo per cell, or the parent’s choice, with two prices | Product |
| Pricing | Fixed price, or volume pricing in tiers based on the number of volume-priced sheets ordered | Product |
| Children per sheet | Single sheets: one child per sheet by default, or several when the session allows it | Session |
| Guided store | “By the sheet” offered next to single prints and packages, or removed | Session |
| Sheet package | The number of sheets, the layouts on offer and a fixed price; magnets, prints, frames or digital files on top | Package |
5And sheets inside your packages?
The sheet package includes a fixed number of sheets. The parent picks one layout per sheet from the ones you offer, at the fixed package price.
They arrive at sheets already built with their photos, in the layouts of your menu, and change only what they want. When they pick another layout, the preview updates with their photos.
You can add magnets, prints, frames or digital files, included in the package price.
6How does a sheet go to the lab?
As one finished image: the layout, the photos and the parent’s crops, put together in one file ready to print.
Sheets go through the partner labs that accept them, Spectra Visuel, Yves Thomas and Lord, and through in-house production. Technicare does not take sheets. Accepted sizes vary from one lab to the next: the store only offers the sheets the session’s lab can print.
Selling by the sheet is included in every MaplePhoto plan. It is not on by default: our team turns it on for your studio, on request.

8Frequently asked questions
Does the parent see their child’s photos in the packages?
Yes, for prints and sheets: their previews use the photos from their gallery, in the package card on a computer, and in a carousel or sheet previews on a phone.
Are package previews to scale?
Approximately. By default, small sizes stay close to the large ones so they remain easy to read; on a computer, the “To-scale print previews” setting widens the size differences between formats.
Which sheet sizes can I sell?
Sheets of 7×10, 8×10 or 8×12 in., with the provided layouts or your own. Accepted sizes vary by lab.
How do I price a sheet?
You set the price in the layout’s product: fixed, or volume pricing in tiers based on the number of volume-priced sheets ordered. In “Parent picks (two prices)” mode, the product carries two prices: same photo, or a different photo per cell.
Can the parent put two children on one sheet?
Not on a single sheet, by default: it carries the photos of one child. You can allow several children, session by session; in a sheet package, the package’s own setting decides.
Is it included in my plan?
Yes, in every MaplePhoto plan. Selling by the sheet is not on by default: our team turns it on for your studio, on request. The single-sheet editor is available in the guided store only; the sheet package sells in the traditional store as well as in the guided store.
